Okay peeps. Here's the deaaaaal right hurrrr. xD
You don't need to read this all, but it's a pretty complete reference. It might be helpful for Masquerade Vampire owners. 8)
Masquerade Vampires
Masquerade Vampires is a race of vampires created by Masquerade, Solka's older sister (by a few minutes).
When Masquerade was little, she developed an illness that had no cure. This illness gave her all the conditions a normal vampire would suffer. Such as sensitivity to light, blood-lust and long fangs. When Masquerade grew older and knew what she was "up against", she decided to name her illness Vampiric Syndrome. When she learned the Vampiric Syndrome was contagious when she bit someone else, she decided she'd be the Founder of a new race of vampires and named the race after her, thus the Masquerade Vampires being born.
Biology
Masquerade Vampires rarely mate. Mostly, they convert to procreate, but they don't die virgins. If an offspring is created through sexual contact, the parents will keep the pup and raise it until it's old enough to care for its own. How old is enough depends on the subspecies of the vampires. How many off springs they will create also depends on the subspecies, though subspecies who normally have litters of four (like a canine) will lose one to two of their cubs.
Masquerades mate for life, though "cheating" is not uncommon. They don't exactly cheat on their mates. The mates know they are sexually contacting with another subject, but they do nothing because this is a part of their sexual rights.
Much depends on the subspecies of the vampire, like for example height, weight and, as stated above, sexual interaction. Though they are usually taller, bigger and are more active if they're a Vampire.
Race traits
When Masquerade Vampires are hungry, thirsty, eating or drinking their iris color changes from their own color to red and their fangs grow. In a wolf, the vampire fangs would grow between their normal fangs and the rest of the teeth. Vampire fangs are much longer and thinner than the generic wolf fang.
When the Vampires are sexually aroused, their eyes just turn to red. No fangs are visible.
If the bitemarks are directly exposed to sunlight, the vampire will get incredibly sick. They will vomit and have high fevers instantly. If exposed for too long, the vampire will die. Some cover their bitemarks with human accessories (for example collars, armor or band aids). Some might even just cover theirs with plants, though that isn't very effective. The bitemark can be exposed at night, seeing that moonlight and artificial light does no damage.
Conversion
To convert, the Masquerade Vampires will dig their vampire fangs into the flesh of the victim, tear the flesh slightly and lift. There is always a drop of blood that falls beneath the tearing. The blood that falls is the victim's, but mixed with vampire poison, which infects the bite mark and spreads quickly through the blood stream. The victim will become paralyzed by the poison until it is clinically dead. The poison spreads throughout the body, killing and freezing every single organ (thus why these vampires have no heartbeat). If there was a soul (most Masquerade Vampires don't believe in such a thing, hence the hypothetical question. Some Masquerades believe in the soul as being a ball in the chest that glows and the living energy flows through the body), the soul would freeze aswell, turning from a bright glow into a dull, dark color. The soul would be "alive" just enough to enable movement. The brain, curiously enough, is the only organ that is NOT frozen.
Members
Currently, there are barely over twenty converts in the clan. Mostly were incidents. They were supposed to die, but instead got converted. Most are bucks and wild dogs.
Members that were purposely converted include Solka and Acey.
Classification
Masquerade Vampires can convert any type of animal. If converted, that animal will be classified as a Masquerade Vampire, having also a subspecies. The subspecies are the species of animal the victim was before conversion.
Example: Solka's species is a Masquerade Vampire. Her subspecies is an arctic wolf.
How to kill a Masquerade Vampire
One can kill a Masquerade simply by taking their bitemark covers away and exposing them to sunlight for as long as is needed for the body to disintegrate, or one can simply apply the common vampire slaying techniques, such as staking.
Etc.

After that, the gums adapt to the changes and stretch easily.)
